On Saturday 22nd July a plaque was unveiled in Penarth Wales in memory of our Founder Peter Campbell. In January 1883 Peter left Penarth aboard the St.Columba destined for India with a cargo of Welsh coal but tragically the ship went down in a storm off the Bay of Biscay, all hands were lost. We'd like to thank Penarth Council who assisted in having this memorial placed.

After the dedication we had a wonderful afternoon in the company of the Cardiff Rangers Supporters Club who we'd like to thank for their hospitality. The following day we met with Tracey Alexander of the Penarth Trust who is going to include Peter Campbell's story in all future tourism literature. A video of the event can be seen on our website here - https://www.thefounderstrail.co.uk/videoÂ
